CNHC Medical Services Offically Opens
The magical day July 2nd of 2007 was a day that will always be remembered. There was excitement. The President, CNF was overwhelmed to see Government Ministers of Health travel to the remote area of Cyanika to commission Clare Nsenga Health Centre. Bernadette could not hide her excitement. In her speech she narrated how it was like a dream when she started to introduce the idea to her friends in the United States . At first her workmate Karen Hudson could not believe what she was talking about when Bernadette showed her an empty site where she had wanted to build a hospital. In fact Dr. Kevin remarked that the first time Bernadette talked to him about the idea he thought “she was little nuts”. “That is the site for my hospital that I am going to build …” “Do you want to help me build it?”
The commissioning of Clare Nsenga Health Centre was a turning point for Clare Nsenga Foundation activities. It meant that the Government officially recognized the contribution being given by Clare Nsenga Foundation. The important point to note is that the community like many communities in Uganda has been burdened by disease as a result of poor environment conditions, hygiene and malnutrition
CLARE NSENGA FOUNDATION FINISHING THE HEALTH CENTRE
Final touches were completed in 2006. This gave courage to the Management of Clare Nsenga Health Centre to request for support in terms of health personnel and essential drugs. The district health authorities were considerate and posted two officials, one an enrolled Nurse and a Nursing Assistant. Limited essential drugs were also sent to the health centre.
