Sister Clare Nsenga

The Late Clare Nsenga was born on July 25, 1947. At the age of 15 years she joined the Sisters of the Congregation of Our Lady of Good Council. She finished her ordinary and advanced level of education in Uganda. She started her vocation and served in various parishes in Kabale Diocese until the year 1983 when she was sent to United States of America to pursue graduate studies up to 1987. While in the USA she tried to promote Health and Education programs.

She hoped one day to establish a charity which would address the concerns she had always thought about. Among of them was how to make it possible for the village rural poor access health services? Coupled with the health services was how the poor can access education facilities. Unfortunately she had cancer of the breast in 1987 and the following four years was a trying moment. She succumbed to cancer and died in the year 1993.

Clare Nsenga Health Centre was constructed and dedicated to the Late Clare Nsenga in her memory.

One of her wishes of having Health services and  education to rural Cyanika came true when Clare Nsenga Health Centre was commissioned in July 2007.This was possible because of her sister Bernadette Kazibwe and her brother Pius Bigirimana who carried her dreams and started to network with people in the U.S. and Uganda/E. Africa.
